We extend a heartfelt congratulations to TSS student Amos, whose dedication and commitment has propelled him towards success in the field of Avionics.
In Year 11, Amos undertook a Certificate II in Aeroskills (Aeroskills Mechanical Pre-apprenticeship) at South Metro TAFE (Jandakot Aerospace Centre) as well as several work placements at various aviation companies at Jandakot Airport. Over the course of this degree Amos learnt about aircraft airframe construction, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, aircraft control systems, maintenance of mechanical components or parts, aircraft avionic fundamentals, aviation industry regulation and standards, aviation maintenance documentation, and much more.
The lecturer was so impressed with Amos that he went out of his way to assist him in obtaining work placements through contacts. In 2023, Amos undertook a Certificate III in Engineering (Technical) also at South Metro TAFE. Amos has applied for an apprenticeship with Qantas as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in their latest round of recruitment, Australia wide, and has impressively made it through to the third stage of the process.
We are incredibly proud of Amos and look forward to watching him fly high in his chosen field.
