Director of The Studio School announced

All Saints’ College (ASC) is delighted to announce that Michael Openshaw has been appointed as our inaugural Director of The Studio School (TSS), Fremantle.

Michael has extensive knowledge of contemporary educational theory, curriculum perspectives and pedagogical practices. In his current role as the Head of Careers and VET at St Norbert College, Michael supports the integration of design thinking challenges, project-based learning, entrepreneurial opportunities and transferable skills development into existing syllabus. Michael has also worked as a Consultant at the Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship Academy (IDEA) and RevEd, an Instructional Designer for KBR Training Solutions, an English teacher at Mazenod College, online tutor at Curtin University and an ESL teacher at Central TAFE.

In addition to CELTA qualifications from Cambridge University, Michael has a Certificate IV in TAE and in Career Development, a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education, and he is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy (Education) at Curtin University.

Michael is currently the Vice President of Career Education Association WA and an Associate of the International Centre for Guidance Studies in the UK. He is a member of the Industry Advisory Group – Career Development and Employment Services for Community Skills WA, and was a member of the recent Taskforce on Career Education for Global Access Partners.

Michael is thrilled to be joining The Studio School. He writes: “This is an amazingly innovative initiative which will benefit the lives of many young people. I look forward to working with all the TSS staff, students and families.”
