This week, students at The Studio School began building their digital E-portfolios using the Bulb platform, a purposeful space where they can curate their learning and showcase their best work over time.
Each portfolio can include a student's project work, certificates, academic artefacts, work experience, volunteering, hobbies and passions, as well as a digital résumé. Together, these elements create a fuller picture of each student’s development.
This initiative strengthens something central to our philosophy: student agency. When students choose what to include and explain why it matters, they begin to see learning as something they own. Reflection becomes intentional, growth becomes visible and their confidence builds.
E-portfolios also prepare students for life beyond school. Whether applying for further study, apprenticeships, or employment, students can present themselves professionally and authentically. Rather than relying solely on grades, they are able to demonstrate skills, initiative and real-world experience.
How do you use an E-portfolio?
To support the launch of this initiative, Greg Port visited The Studio School to deliver a hands-on workshop. His session introduced the Bulb platform and guided students through the first stages of building their portfolios with clarity and intention. We thank Greg for sharing his expertise and supporting this important step.
At The Studio School, learning is project-based, collaborative, and connected to the real world. The E-portfolio brings that learning together in one cohesive narrative that will continue to grow each term.
