A group of our students have recently completed a large-scale public mural in the heart of Fremantle, created in collaboration with mural artist Jordan Rush through the City of Fremantle’s Our Voice, Our Mark initiative.
The artwork reflects Fremantle from a young person’s perspective: the people who shape their experience, the community spaces they utilise and the strong sense of belonging they feel within their community. Local musician Trevor, a well-known and respected personality among students, is featured as a symbol of that connection.

Throughout the project, our students took part in every stage of the creative process, from developing and presenting early design ideas to painting the final artwork on the wall. They learned what it takes to bring a creative project to life in the real world, working as a team, building indutry connections, sharing responsibility and adapting as the vision unfolded.
The experience highlights the unique opportunities students have to learn beyond the classroom, developing practical skills and confidence while contributing something meaningful to the local area.

You can watch a short video featuring student reflections on the project here.
You can find the mural on Goldsborough Street in Fremantle.
